History

1987
Alchemie was established in 1987 by Mr Paul Haggett, the focus of the company was to develop a successful business formulating and manufacturing Epoxy resin products for the U.K. tooling industry.

1991
Following a very successful start Alchemie entered into a four year partnership with Warwick University Chemistry Department. This afforded the company a magnificent development opportunity to further our product portfolio to include the formulation and manufacture of Fastcast Polyurethane resins.

1993
Following the successful incorporation of the British Standard Quality system Alchemie ISO 9001 – 2008 Certificate, Alchemie were rewarded the distribution rights to supply RTV silicone rubbers for SHINETSU SILICONES. This key partnership enabled the company to enhance its product portfolio and further develop into new markets.

1994
The success of the company necessitated that a larger factory was required to allow for greater production volumes to be manufactured. A new factory was in place by March.

1995
Alchemie made a major investment to develop its own in-house Research and Development department, to further improve its polymer product range. This investment led to the development in a range of high quality polyurethane resins for the Vacuum casting and Prototyping industries. Click here to view Vacuum casting.

1997
After lengthy discussions, Alchemie succeeded in becoming the exclusive U.K. distributor for NECUMER GmbH. Necumer are one of the leading manufacturers of Polyurethane and Epoxy MODELBOARD products. 1998
Following successful market penetration throughout the U.K. Alchemie formed its first distribution partnership to supply products into France. The company now works closely with a network of distributors which sees our products supplied throughout Europe and Internationally. Click here to view our distributors.

2000
Alchemie required a further factory move to enable the company to increase it production capacity to accommodate its expanding customer base. The company is now located on a 5 acre site with plenty of scope for future manufacturing requirements.

2002
Alchemie launch a new development product series to enhance its range of Epoxy & Polyurethane resins. An innovative range of products for the Electronics industry is received very well which affords the company increased growth in this very diverse and technical market sector. 2004
Alchemie invest in a new Z-Blade mixer, this significant investment enables the company to promote its manufacturing and R&D capabilities to companies who are looking to have their own product’s improved and/or bulk manufactured. Working under strict NDA agreements this
TOLL MANUFACTURING SERVICE is offered to produce Epoxy Putty, Paste and Grout products for a number of diverse company’s.

2006
Alchemie launch an innovative range of R.I.M. series materials for the automotive industry. Machine dispensed polyurethanes both in rigid and flexible versions for the pre production of automotive parts including; body kits, bumpers, internal trim, under bonnet components and hoses. 2008
Alchemie extend its successful range of Water-clear, UV stable casting resins to include, Badge doming systems, bulk casting system and rapid cure system to cover all market requirements. Click here to view our water clear resin products.

2010
Alchemie target the carbon fibre tooling market with the launch of a clear Epoxy gelcoat for cosmetic carbon parts. A high temperature Gelcoat, coupling coat, backing paste and resin system for carbon fibre pre preg tooling.

2011

To further promote the successful brand of Alchemie and its products the company launch its new website. The website offers our customers more technical information to better inform their decision making.

2013

To cope with its rapidly expanding customer base and increased requirement for manufactured products in Epoxy and Polyurethane The company have invested in new production machinery and increased its production workforce by 35% to ensure we can meet the demands of our customers

The success of the privately owned company has enabled the business to become recognised as one of the leading manufacturing companies within the U.K. for the development and production of Tooling resins and polymer systems. The industry sectors that we are supplying materials in to, has extended to include:
Aerospace, Automotive, Oil & Gas, Composites, Nuclear, Vacuum casting, Vacuum forming, Electronics, Marine, Wind energy and Construction.

The future strategy of the company will be to remain at the forefront of Polymer development to enable us to exploit new opportunities and markets.

2017

Alchemie are proudly celebrating 30 years in industry.

2019

At the beginning of 2019, Alchemie took the decision to invest its capital on a large-scale development which would see their current manufacturing site double in size. The £2.5m development would allow for increased manufacturing capacity with the purchase of new bespoke mixing equipment. There is now more than double the space for the warehousing of raw materials and finished goods, and provides a state of the art, Research & Development facility and a new sales offices.

The new development is aimed at future proofing the business and allow for its ambitious expansion plans within its existing markets and targeted new ventures.

2021

Alchemie took full possession of its new factory and is already seeing the benefits, having sufficient space to store additional raw materials and additional machine capacity to manufacture finished goods. We have also been able to attract new business in Toll manufacturing products for other companies.
